Patrick Padilla:

Honestly, it’s an OUCH for us – but I think that this document states that we SHOULD NOT and SHOULD STOP impersonating others. The bad thing is that those Pinoys that got the “edge” are the ones trying to screw up other people’s impression over us. Before they say (as survey states) that it’s the Pinoys that are hardworking and mostly comes up with bright ideas, but with this “culture-mix” and Pinoys trying to make a “snoop-dog” impression makes us look stupid.

Or maybe I am just babbling around …

Well let’s not blame what the author admits, but rather we should first look to ourselves if we are really worth the criticism. IMHO it is in criticism that we should change for the betterment, not to demean ourselves by doing more “evil schemes” like “Internet prostitution” (quoting Jeffrey) just to solve “poverty” in a general sense.

But this is not to be subjective … of course not all of us are bad (and even some of us have done well outside the country) but we just can’t help comments from others if they really see a bunch of “negativity”…

Velessa Dulin:

dont get too affected guys.

honestly if you try to peruse the entire article what the writer is trying to point out is his / her ‘ foul language’… not really about the Filipinos as a whole but his disgusting language… this article is not new. especially, the first and last paragraph. there was an alteration though, the chatroom “conversation”, which i believe was added to simply convey his being dumb(?!).

haay nako mga walang magawang bantay too sa internet cafe…

try to look at the article from an educated point of view and you will put this in the trash. there’s no point.

we get too affected when other nationals say something bad about us. i dont blame anyone, we have our ego and pride. pero guys, sa gusto nyo man at hindi there’s always the true Filipinos and the Filipinos who just look like Filipinos.

grab every opportunity to help other Filipinos. wag lang na idefend yung kalagayan natain sa ibang bayan. disprove them by acting… hehe

Jeffrey Go:

I guess the writer of the article only found source of his study through the internet / chatrooms. I think there are some truth about it.. Filipinos are mostly a mixed race. That’s why it can’t be identified as Asian, American, Chinese or Spanish. Mostly would say, ‘Half-Chinese’ ‘Half-American’, ‘Half-half… that’s true since we have been colonized by many countries. That is why we are not established an identity. We only say we are Asian since we are located in Asia.

Sad thing about the article is that Filipinos are now again associated with being prostitute. Even during the Japanese times, Filipino women are known to be prostitute. Nowadays, they have returned. In the form of internet chatters. Those who can’t afford education would result to this type of means to upgrade their way of living. So they could help their families against poverty.

Yeah it’s an ouch as what have Patrick stated. To think that even those educated Filipinos will have the same brand since we all are Filipinos.

Ira Clea Cabahug:

Statements like this makes me really suspicious about the author:

Nothing good has ever come from Philippines

and I don’t believe anything good ever will.

Well, the author admits to himself – Anonymous COWARD – he’s such a coward to stand on his shallow opinions.

Anyway, ASIA is not only about Japan and China. Asia included Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, India, etc and these groups are also NOT so Japanese or Chinese like. Ay ambot, pagkakitid jud sa author mggeneralize.. hahay! MERCY!

Mark Makinn Pit:

We shouldn’t be affected by words of that sort. We should continue to do what we used to do and do what is for the best and continue living. Most powerful people in history are trying to change the world, a world that they dream to be but when they die only their destructive pride remains in the record book.

Such person who wrote that article is certainly not one of us if I am to speak of race (usually I don’t use the word race but just the word person or people because race divides people). That person is living among us but cannot accept what is around us and while he is looking for the answer for the things around him he found a misinterpretation of the world he is in and obviously lead him to such words. I am sure he will regret it when he will become old enough to understand and eventually will realize he was hurting the feeling of the entire group of people living in a country, bad for him.

Don’t waste time making regrets. However, continue to change for the best. I myself would never give such words but is hoping if I come to the point that I am desperate to make changes I may just calm down and give helpful advice and die in peace.

Floralin Galupo:

wow! the poetic patty… that’s what cultural diversity is all about. people see things differently in their own different perspectives. if u’l have to think about it all the while, you’ll not be able to enjoy all the small pretty things around that’s more worth than such nonsense ones. yaw palabi pada ui… :p
