I have been an TechTalker since months ago and just met the founder, **Ms. Tina Amper **last month. Ever since then, I have been inspired with the development of the local tech community here in Cebu.

The main goal of TechTalks is to encourage Tech entrepreneurs and gauge and make sure that  Cebu has capability of  being the Silicon Valley of the Philippines.

This month of July 2011 is when lots of Information Technology events in Cebu are taking place. Therefore, I am listing some events here that you might be interested in.

You are invited to attend a TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER AND IP (Intellectual Property) SEMINAR hosted by the DOST-UP Cebu TBI on July 13, starting at 9:00 a.m. Please see attached flier for more details.

The speaker will be Dr Garcia, head of the Technology Licensing Office of the UP System, who has several years experience in the field of Tech Transfer and Commercialization. He is also a Professor of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology at UP Diliman specializing in the field of Biotechnology.

The seminar is divided into Basics (a.m.) and Advanced (p.m.). The Basics will cover fundamental concepts of Tech Transfer and IP.

The Advanced session includes a workshop, catering to those who have ongoing researches / inventions, where a research / invention can be assessed for patentability / commercializability. There will also be plenty of opportunity for Q&A with Dr. Garcia.
