Isang Gabing Mapanglaw...

I am not trying too hard to recall the songs our choir sang when we were competing in NAMCYA but I just suddenly remembered, though vaguely, the songs that were taught to us. Thanks to Mam Helen and Mam Leyco (may she rest in peace)..

“ISANG GABING MAPANGLAW”

Antonio Molina

Isang gabing mapanglaw

Rikit mo’y aking namasdan

Sa pus ko’y kusang namahay

Ang malabis kong pagmamahal

Ay Neneng masdan mo ‘ko

Ay Neneng dinggin mo ‘ko

Tapat nyaring pagsuyo ko

Buhay nyaring buhay

Ako’y iyong tunghayan

Nang di yaring karamdamanang

Puso ko’y namahay

Kaya’t h’wag mong bihagin

Ang abang paggiliw

At nang hindi makitil

Puso ko’t hiningang angkin..

“Awit ng Mundo”

Kung nag-iisa

At kung nalulungkot

Sumama sa pag-awit

Sa msayang pag-awit ng mundo

Dinggin ang pag-awit

Ng buong mundo

Awit ng ligaya

At pag mamahal

“Dugaluna Mabaso”

Pamakin no ganiyo

Sototolan ke mabaso

A Dugaluna Mabaso

A peka sasarimanok

Dadayadayaday

Dadayadayaday

Da da daya dayaday

Minimpalantig eyan

Koatag a derubasa

Kiya talanganan un

Sirata bata gigiraw

Dadayadayaday

Dadayadayaday

Da da daya dayaday

To those who could recall, help me out.

“Time for Music”

This is the time for music

Many of ______ will/would _____ (Many a joy will bring?)

This is the time for music

______ for the world to bring

Update:

Ephraim Jao, a fellow choir member just commented below and added the second part of the Dugaluna Mabasa song. Also he was able to recall another song we sang! Wow, nostalgia galore! Heheheh.
